Summary
We collect the minimum needed to run the quiz and the photographer's account. We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising. We don't use third-party ad trackers.
Who is responsible
the operator of Good Side is the controller of photographer account data. When a client takes a quiz sent by a photographer, the photographer decides how the client's information is used, and we process it on the photographer's behalf. Questions about a specific photographer's use should go to them. For anything about your privacy, contact us at contact@goodside.site.
What we collect
Photographers: email address, name, studio name, website and Instagram handle if provided, logo, session details and notes you enter, and your subscription status from Paddle (we never receive card numbers).
Quiz takers: first name, quiz answers and the resulting profile, the optional private note left for the photographer, and, only if you choose to send it, your name, email, phone, event date and message.
Technical: IP address for security and rate limiting (not stored with your results), and privacy-friendly aggregate analytics without cookies.
How we use it
To show results, build session plans, send the emails you request (sign-in codes, invitations, results, lead notifications), process subscriptions, prevent abuse, and improve the Service using aggregated statistics.
Session plans may be generated with an AI provider (Anthropic). We send only what is needed to write the plan: first names, quiz answers and scores, session details and notes. Providers may not use this data to train their models.
Our legal bases: performing our contract with you (accounts, quizzes, results, plans, the emails you request and subscriptions); our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention and aggregated statistics); consent, when a quiz taker chooses to send their contact details to a photographer (withdraw it by contacting the photographer or us); and legal obligations (accounting records and lawful requests).
Retention
We keep data while the photographer's account is active. Deleting an account deletes its clients, results, plans and leads within 30 days, including backups. Public quiz results not linked to a photographer are deleted after 24 months. Billing records are kept by our merchant of record for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data. Photographers can do most of this from Settings. Anyone can email contact@goodside.site; we answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example California, other US states, or the EU/UK) you may have additional rights, including the right to appeal a decision and to lodge a complaint with a regulator. We don't sell or "share" personal information as defined by California law.
Children
Good Side is not directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 used the quiz, contact us and we will delete it.
Security and transfers
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by role, and database rules separate each photographer's data. Data is stored in the European Union, may be processed in the United States by the providers above with appropriate safeguards, and is accessed by us from Algeria, where Good Side is operated.
